Walking Humbly Together

New video series

Over the past two years, leaders within the National Religious Vocation Conference (NRVC) have embarked on a transformative journey of learning and unlearning behaviors, seeking to deepen our understanding of intercultural humility and anti-racism. At a recent Board meeting, members of the National Board and staff humbly shared their insights through short 4-minute videos and 60-second clips. These personal reflections form the foundation of a new video series titled Walking Humbly Together. The series is created to inspire members and others committed to lifelong growth in interculturality and anti-racism.

The NRVC has designed Walking Humbly Together to serve as a valuable resource for fostering culturally mindful conversation and advocacy in vocation ministry. The NRVC is sharing personal narratives to create opportunities for reflection and engagement, encouraging viewers to examine their own practices and perspectives on interculturality and anti-racism.

The first video in the series will launch on Juneteenth, the oldest known holiday that commemorates the day in 1865 when the enslaved people of Texas learned that they had been emancipated more than two years earlier. It is a day to work for the Gospel values of justice, dignity, and belonging, and the hope for a more just future. These weekly videos posted weekly on NRVC’s Facebook page and YouTube Channel aim to be tools for education and dialogue suitable for use at congregational gatherings, workshops, and meetings. By weaving together narratives of humility and growth, we hope this series sparks meaningful conversations and inspires inclusive approaches across cultures and generations.

The videos and assessments are funded through a three-year grant by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.
